Hand Blown Bulb Vase in Cobalt
What better way to stave off the gloom of winter than by bringing spring blooms into the sitting room? The Victorian craze for forcing bulbs indoors – hyacinths, crocus, amaryllis, narcissus – spawned a cottage industry of handblown glass vase production in the mid to late 19th century. We’ve chosen some favorite shapes from our own collection of gem-toned bulb vases and had three of them copied by our talented Vermont glassblower. This dark cobalt version comes in a low rounded shape to complement its taller companions and looks fabulous in a trio or a foursome.
