Handblown Bulb Vase in Amber
What better way to stave off the gloom of winter than by bringing spring blooms into the sitting room? The Victorian craze for forcing bulbs indoors – hyacinths, crocus, amaryllis, narcissus – spawned a cottage industry of handblown glass vase production in the mid to late 19th century. We’ve chosen some favorite shapes from our own collection of gem-toned bulb vases and had three of them copied by our talented Vermont glassblower. We love this deep amber color for the way it reflects the weak afternoon sunlight in winter. Collect one at a time, or save by purchasing all four colors together by choosing our “Bulb Vase Quartet” option.
