Mouth Blown Bulb Vase in Aquamarine
What better way to stave off the gloom of winter than by bringing spring blooms into the sitting room? The Victorian craze for forcing bulbs indoors – hyacinths, crocus, amaryllis, narcissus – spawned a cottage industry of handblown glass vase production in the mid to late 19th century. We’ve chosen some favorite shapes from our own collection of gem-toned bulb vases and had three of them copied by our talented Vermont glassblower. This dark aquamarine version is so beautiful, one friend places hers in the kitchen window year round to catch the light even when the garden is in bloom. Collect each color over time or buy three or four together.
